The job market is tough right now.
Sometimes it can seem like you see Zero Entry-level roles being advertised.
Nothing will guarantee you a job, but having a strategic plan will improve your chances of getting that interview.
It’s hard work... Nothing will substitute for that.
To help I’ve put together this simple Five Step Road Map you can follow:
1️⃣Don’t Spray and Pray
You NEED to apply with intention.
Firing off generic resumes to every Cyber Security position you come across might feel like casting a wide net, but it often gets you little results. Instead, consider a more strategic approach: applying with intention.
Here's how you can do it:
Research the Company: Before applying to any position, take the time to research the company thoroughly.
Understand the Job Requirements: Carefully review the job description and understand the specific skills, experience, and qualifications required for the role.
Tailor Your Resume: Once you have a clear understanding of the company and the role, tailor your resume accordingly.
Highlight Relevant Experience: If you have experience or skills that directly relate to the company's industry, technologies, or tools, make sure to highlight them prominently on your resume.
Personalise Your Cover Letter: In your cover letter, express your genuine interest in the company and the role.
If I am honest, this process can be disheartening, frustrating and general pain in the ass. Stick with it though!
You’re not going to be rich overnight but in time you will be able to build a fulfilling, very well paid and interesting work life for yourself.
